Collecting Data

If you're aiming to gather information from your visitors or capture leads with your AI Agent, you're in the right spot!

Our platform makes collecting data a breeze, and I'll guide you through each step. Let's begin. 😊

Step 1: Enable Data Collection

First and foremost, access your agent settings by heading to the "" section.

Ensure to locate the "Collect Data" checkbox and make sure it's checked. This will activate data collection for your agent.

Step 2: Add Your Questions

After enabling data collection, you'll notice an "Add Question" button positioned right below the checkbox. Simply click on it to commence adding the questions you wish to ask.

For each question, you can input your question text and select a question type.

Step 2.1: Understanding Question Types

Question types direct the AI on what information to extract from an answer, allowing your visitors to respond conversationally in their own manner.

For instance, the "Email Address" type will convert the message "My email is hi at answerly dot io" to "hi@dluxchat.com" in your Google Sheet.

Here's a summary:

  1. Short Text: Ideal for brief responses, such as names or short answers.

  2. Email Address: Specifically designed for capturing email addresses.

  3. Phone Number: Utilize this type for gathering telephone numbers.

  4. Options Menu: Generates a multiple-choice menu, with choices appearing in the widget as quick replies. (A personal favorite!)

  5. Date: If you require collecting dates, this type ensures consistent formatting according to your preference.

Step 3: Configure Your Google Sheet

Once you've configured your questions, you'll need to link to a Google Sheet where all the gathered data will be stored.

You can locate the sheet field directly beneath the questions, as depicted in the image:

Ensure that the Google Sheet you link to is empty.

Share your Google Sheet with our service account request@grant-permission.iam.gserviceaccount.com to provide us with the required permissions to write data to it.

Step 4: Final Instructions (Optional)

Optionally, you can include final instructions for what the agent should say in their last message. This is useful for concluding the conversation or providing additional information, such as suggesting a coupon code, as demonstrated in the example "Suggest 50-OFF as a coupon code."

Step 5: Redirect (Optional)

Lastly, you'll encounter the "After Collecting" option. Here, you can designate a URL to redirect your users to once the data collection process is finished.
